And even this year, it’s no different as Samsung has launched the Galaxy S8 & S8+ which many Android purists believe to the true smartphone leader in the market. This is not really about the latest Android 7.0 vs. the Apple iOS 10.3 – we would be doing an Android vs. Apple iOS article later on. Based on build, hardware, features, usability, cost and pure performance, which one is the better smartphone of the two – Apple iPhone 7 or the new Samsung Galaxy S8.

With the Galaxy S8, Samsung has introduced a new trend in the market with great aesthetics, innovative technology, stunning design and dazzling look. It is without a doubt, the best smartphone from the stables of Samsung till date. Apple has not been focusing much on aesthetics for a couple of years as the innovation has slowed down from one of the world’s most innovative companies.

Display-

As per the display size, Apple’s  iPhone 7 has 4.7 inch (or 5.5 inch for the 7 Plus) display whereas Samsung’s is a larger phone– S8 having a display of 5.8 inch and S8+ having a display of 6.2 inches. However, it’s not the display size that is interesting but rather the bezel-less, edge-to-edge screen that is stunningly beautiful.

Certain other specifications indicates certain differences between the S8 and iPhone 7, Apple offers Retina HD display and LED backlit LCD flat screen whereas Samsung S8 offers Super AMOLED “Infinity Display” that we all must agree, is superior to Apple’s. The new flagship series of Samsung S8 and S8+ also offer new mobile HDR premium making it compatible with HDR content. The only region where iPhone 7 can hold its ground is the feature of 3D touch and pressure sensitivity that allows the developers to enhance the quality of the apps and games.

Resolution-

The resolution of Galaxy S8 is much higher than Apple at 2960×1440 pixels, while the iPhone 7 Apple offers the resolution of 1334x 750 pixels in iPhone 7. This translates to about 326 ppi (pixel-per-inch) density on the iPhone compared to the whopping 570 ppi on the S8. It can be concluded that Galaxy S8 has much sharper display, even though the iPhone 7 offers a great display on its own.

Design-

The appeal of the design totally depends on personal preferences of consumers, some like the dual-edged curved front design of the S8 and some do not like the absence of home button.  Even for Apple, some are not satisfied with the design of the iPhone 7 smartphone. In all, we can say that definitely, S8 definitely has an appealing and slim design. It is beautifully curved, has a taller display, and has a finger print sensor adjacent to the main camera. Both the smartphones are water proof and considered as the one of the best smartphones in the market. Here we have to give full marks to Samsung just for their pure innovation.

Camera-

Both smartphones have a great camera. Samsung offers 12 megapixel duo pixel rear camera, optical image stabilization (OIS), and phase detection auto focus (PDAF). The front camera of S8 offers 8 mega pixel resolution and also offers Iris Scanner which means the phone gets unlocked with the blink of your eye. In case of the iPhone 7, it offers a 12 megapixel rear camera with OIS and Quad LED True Tone Flash whereas the front facing camera is 7 megapixels with retina flash and no iris technology.

Going by the above discussed features, the Galaxy S8 has come out as a winner in comparison to the iPhone 7. Keep in mind that we’re not saying the iPhone 7 is bad at anything it does, we’re just saying that the Galaxy S8 does it better and looks better as well.
